Paying Guests is a Bollywood film starring Shreyas Talpade, Javed Jaffrey, Aashish Chaudhary and Vatsal Seth in the lead roles. It is directed by Paritosh Painter under Subhash Ghai's Mukta Arts banner. A comedy film revolving around four close friends who reside together in Pattaya, it is a remake of Marathi film Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi from the late 1980s film and borrows the basic plot from 1966 B&W comedy movie Biwi aur makaan, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee.<br/><br/>Shooting started in the second week of April 2008.Riya Sen was originally offered Neha Dhupia's role, Aarti Gupta, but declined and instead chose the role as Jayesh's melodramatic girlfriend, Alpita. A sequel, Paying Guests 2, is in production and will take place against the backdrop of a beauty pageant
