Roop Kumar Rathod is an Indian playback singer and music director.
Roopkumar was introduced as a playback singer by the music directors Laxmikant – Pyarelal for the Hindi film Angaar (1992). Later, he sang in the Hindi films such as Gumrah (1993), Raja (1995), Naajayaz (1995), Gaddaar (1995), Bhairavi (1996), PremGranth (1996) etc.
He got his major breakthrough with the songs “To Chalun” and “Sandesein Aate Hain” from the Hindi film Border (1997). The songs made him popular among the public. Both Roopkumar and Sunali Rathod were the contestants of Mission Ustaad, a musical show on 9X Entertainment channel. They were declared the Ustaad Jodi on February 23, 2008. He recently released a sufi album along with Sunali Rathod called Kalmaa.
