Mahek Chahal is a Bollywood actress and a Norwegian model of Desi, namely Punjabi Sikh origin. Mahek's linguistic shortcomings became a problem when she was considered for a role in Ajnabee. Mahek quickly learned from her shortcomings. After learning something from Kishore Namit's acting school in Mumbai, which has groomed newcomers Hrithik Roshan and former beauty queens Priyanka Chopra and Dia Mirza. she was able to get a Telugu film titled Neetho, but the director had to get her dialogues dubbed. She got her Bollywood debut with a marginal role in a flick Nayee Padosan. She also did an item number in Kareena Kapoor starrer Chameli. Mahek finally broke ice in Bollywood with two films to start her career. The first was director Raj Kaushal’s Two and the other was director Hansal Mehta’s Strangers. She has also done a Punjabi film Dil Apna Punjabi with tips films. She also played supporting roles in the Salman Khan starrer films Wanted and Main Aurr Mrs Khanna. She has done TV commercials for Mentor Shirts, Godrej Refrigerator, Fevicol, Bombay Dyeing, Bar-One Chocolate.
