Now that CHASHME BADDOOR is a success, let the fact be told. While David Dhawan has brought himself back in form more than half a decade after the success of PARTNER (the interim period saw back to back downers in the form of DO KNOT DISTURB and RASCALS), he also had his elder son Rohit Dhawan for company once the film moved into post production. "Since Rohit's DESI BOYZ had already released by the time the principal shoot of CHASHME BADDOOR was through, he decided to join his father for the finishing touches. He was there in the capacity of a creative consultant as David felt that he would be able to lend inputs from today's time perspective,'' informs a source. This isn't the first time though that the father-son 'jodi' has come together for a film.
Even during MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI , Rohit was involved at numerous stages of its making. That was the time when Rohit was gearing up to step into the world of direction. However he went on to contribute a lot towards the overall look of the film as well as the final presentation. "He has direction running in his veins so it is but natural that we exchange notes around filmmaking,'' David Dhawan acknowledges, "Though Varun wasn't as much involved during CHASHME BADDOOR since he was himself busy with the shoot of STUDENT OF THE YEAR and then got occupied with numerous post release activities, Rohit was there. I did confide in him about the way CHASHME BADDOOR was shaping up. I had already finished the shoot of the film though and together we discussed what had to be retained or eliminated from the final cut." "When there are two directors already at home, why to look elsewhere for suggestions,'' he goes on to quip before signing off.
