The first look of Aashiqui 2 and its music will be launched Monday at Sudeep Studios, a place where Aashiqui music was recorded about 23 years ago. Released in 1990, Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal-starrer Aashiqui was co-produced by late Gulshan Kumar and Mahesh Bhatt, who had also directed the film. "We were contemplating many ideas. We planned to have the first look and the music launch at the Rose Garden, then on a Yacht to make it look romantic. But nothing was convincing," Bhushan Kumar, co-producer of Aashiqui 2, told. Later, one of the persons from the marketing suggested to have both at the Sudeep Studios, "where the music of Aashiqui was born.
It was destined to happen there," he added. Kumar says it is a very nostalgic moment for him and Mahesh Bhatt because Aashiqui was his father Gulshan Kumar's first musical feature film. "It's a very emotional moment for my family also. I am looking forward to the launch tomorrow (Monday)," he added. Aashiqui 2, however, is not a sequel to Aashiqui. The only similarity is that it is also a romantic-musical. Directed by Mohit Suri, Aashiqui 2 will see Aditya Roy Kapoor romancing Shraddha Kapoor. It has music by Jeet Ganguly, Mithoon and Ankit Tiwari. When asked about the presence of lead pair of original Aashiqui, Kumar said: "I don't think they will be there, but we will play a small AV (audio-visual) of the original film at the launch."
