The digitally restored version of the 1981 Bollywood classic Chashme Buddoor has been released along with its remake at City Cinema Ruwi. The release of the ‘80s cult movie along with its remake is an ode to 100 years of Indian cinema. The David Dhawan-directed remake of Chashme Buddoor will be running along with the older version until Wednesday. Ghanshyam Choudhary, manager, City Cinema Ruwi, said, “The old and the new versions of Chashme Buddoor are being shown simultaneously in different screens.
We got good response for both the movies during the weekend.” Choudhary said the earlier Chashme Buddoor is more of a family film while its remake is rich in terms of editing and camera work. “Though both the films have the same storyline, I feel the older one is better. We expect to get a better response from cinegoers in the coming days,” he said. This is the first time City Cinema Group has released two movies with the same name at the same time. “This is an ode to 100 years of Indian cinema,” Choudhary said.
