Bollywood’s highly acclaimed filmmaker Karan Johar is known for his larger than life films. Be it a candy-floss love story like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ or be it a content driven film like ‘My Name is Khan’ that was based on a sensitive issue like terrorism, Karan has managed to pull off each genre with élan. But the award-winning director is now going back to his basics and like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ he is making a youth-centric film ‘Student of the year’.

In this film Karan Johar is all set to launch three new comers namely Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter Alia Bhatt, Siddharth Malhotra and David Dhawan’s son Varun Dhawan. But instead of these kiddos getting the jitters, Director Karan Johar is feeling nervous to start the shooting of the much awaited film. He recently posted a tweet where he expressed his anxiety, ‘I start my shoot for SOTY in 2 weeks...if I am nervous I wonder what the 3 first timers are feeling??’ he wrote on his twitter account. The film ‘Student of the year’ is said to be inspired from the Hollywood teen-caper ‘High School Musical’. The film is slated to release in the first half of 2012.
