Producer Ekta Kapoor, who is all set for her upcoming film Ek Thi Daayan, says she is not trying to promote superstition through her movie. Ek Thi Daayan is a supernatural thriller which stars Emraan Hashmi, Konkana Sen Sharma, Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles. "Through this film we are not promoting superstition. We are not taking the supernatural element seriously in the film. We have done it in a fun and entertaining way," Ekta told reporters here at a promotional event.
Producer Vishal Bharadwaj said, "I don't believe in supernatural power. We are taking it in entertaining way. We have done it all in fun way." Bharadwaj feels writers are backbone of the film and more and more writers are needed in the industry. "We have fewer writers in industry today as they eventually become directors. We need more and more writers. Writers are not respected. We need good writers," he said. The film, produced jointly by Kapoor and Bharadwaj, releases on April 18.
