He got paralyzed, post his operation. Meanwhile, his family who relocated to Jaisalmer and then to Jaipur due to never ending financial constraints, have been living in rented apartments ever since. Describing Srivallabh's condition, a close family friend said that since he occasionally screams at night, his family is forced to look for a new refuge every time. Even though Srivallabh's businessman brother is trying his best to help the family in whatever ways possible, the family's sole hope (from Bollywood) is in the form of Aamir Khan, who besides helping them financially, also visited them in February when he was shooting in Jaipur for PK. Meanwhile, Vyas' wife Shobha is very upset with the kind of 'help' that CINTAA (Cine & T.V. Artistes Association) had offered to them. She said that when she applied for help, Arun Bali of CINTAA offered a mere Rs 10,000. While she did admit to be facing financially challenged times, the self respecting woman that she is, politely declined the amount as she saw no point in being obligated to anybody for that meager amount. When asked, Gajendra Chauhan (VP- CINTAA) said that they will do the needful after reviewing Vyas' case through the trust that had been set up by the legendary Dilip Kumar alongwith the (late) Sunil Dutt and Mithun Chakraborty for the needy artists. He added that, even though on March 16, 2009, the association had sanctioned Rs 50,000 for Vyas, but they are waiting for the family to submit the necessary documents in order to receive the cheque.
