The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will meet Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Ravi Savant on Saturday evening to resolve the issue regarding the ban imposed on Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan from entering the Wankhede Stadium. The MCA had taken the stand to prohibit Khan for five years after the co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise had had an altercation with a security guard and threatened an official during an obscenity-filled post-match melee last year. The actor had later justified his actions and refused to apologize for his behaviour, prompting the MCA to stick with their ban.

With IPL VI coming up and KKR scheduled to play at Wankhede on May 7, the BCCI has requested the MCA to reconsider the prohibition. But a top MCA official revealed that they were still unsure about which board member would be meeting with them at their headquarters here in Mumbai."We have just received a request from the BCCI to have a meeting on the Shah Rukh Khan issue. We have a clause in the IPL contract which will not allow a banned person inside the stadium and BCCI doesn't want that clause. We are also meeting the Mumbai Indians," the official confirmed to The Indian Express.

Just a few weeks ago, IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla had taken up the responsibility of bringing an amicable solution to the Shah Rukh-MCA fracas and stated that as a franchise owner, Khan should have every right to enter the stadium during his team's matches. While the MCA has remained defiant in their stand till now, it'll be interesting to see whether they do end up budging from it at the behest of the BCCI. Incidentally, two months ago the MCA had added an additional clause to their IPL-contract with Mumbai Indians and the BCCI. A clause that would allow only accredited persons to enter the Wankhede Stadium while the door remains slammed shut on those who have been banned.
