Why is Parineeti Chopra scared after winning the National Award?
The pretty Ishaqzaade actor reacts on winning the prestigious awardTo win a National Award, in whichever category or capacity it may be, is definitely a big deal. And when you happen to win one as a debutant, you better be over the moon! Parineeti Chopra who landed a special mention for her debut film Ishaqzaade is playing it cool though. In fact, she is a bit scared too. Soon after landing the honour, Parineeti said in her statement, “I never thought I would win for Ishaqzaade but when I did, it was the biggest one in the country!! That too for my first lead role. I just cannot believe it. But this scares and humbles me, and will definitely make me work even harder in the future!! Thank you jury.” Now she’s humbled, we get that. But scared, why babes? Sure, she will have to maintain that level of performance in her future roles too, and that is a good thing no? Plus wethinks she is in good hands, since she’s doing the Band Baaja Baaraat director Maneesh Sharma’s next, Dharma Productions’ Hasee toh Phasee and Shaad Ali’s Kill Dill.

Oh, and while Parineeti seems to be a bundle of nerves, her cousin Priyanka Chopra is kind of bittersweet about the whole thing. She’s sad because her film Barfi! didn’t win an award, but also happy that her cute little sister won it this time, which takes the tally to two National Awards for the Chopra family. Here’s what Pee Cee had to say, “I am feeling bad that Barfi! did not win a National Award. But then it is up to the jury why they did not give the award. I am happy for her. Now, in the Chopra family, there are two national awards. The whole day I had to explain what special mention means!” See what we said about being bittersweet!
