 Arjun bats for Nikhil Advani

D-Day is in news. Even though the thriller is four months away from release, filmmaker Nikhil Advani recently hosted a special screening of the film where an exclusive footage was shown to some eminent members of the film fraternity. Meanwhile Arjun Rampal, the film's lead, is elated with the results. "I can confidently state that this is the kind of film that is in Nikhil's alley. The people who know him are saying that it was about time he makes a thriller", says Arjun. Arjun is happy to bat for the director who has faced rough weather with his last few releases (Chandni Chowk To China, Patiala House) If the actor is to be believed, Nikhil has indeed changed gears with D-Day. "He is very interesting, strong and a powerful director", adds Arjun about Nikhil,

who was incidentally an Assistant Director to Sudhir Mishra for Iss Raat Ki Subah Nahi, an indigenous thriller that has managed to gain a cult status for itself over the years. However, he is quick to deny any similarities with Asambhav where Arjun had played an agent out on a mission even as conspiracy games played all around him and other characters, including no less than the President of India. "No, there is no similarity whatsoever with Asambhav; D-Day is far more realistic", immediately says Arjun, "From a performance point of view there is lot more to do and there are quite a few dynamics in this character. It is not just about action. Having said that, the kind of action you would see in the film is wonderful. Just watching Nikhil on the sets along with the (Hollywood) action director Tom Struthers brings in energy of a different kind."
