The film is being produced by Jaya Prada and Bihari babu Shatrughan Sinha is also expected to essay a role in the movie. K.D. Dinkar Kapoor, the director of the film, said the former Bihar chief minister would be putting in a special appearance. "Lalu will be playing a small role in the film which we hope to shoot next month," Kapoor said. "We require two days to shoot his portion in the film." Kapoor said Lalu would not play himself in the film but enact the role of a good Samaritan on the screen. "The film has an emotional theme.
He plays a character who adopts a child in the film," he said. Kapoor said 50 per cent shooting of the film was over and the rest would be completed soon. He said the film was the Bhojpuri remake of the critically acclaimed Telugu film, Matru Devobahava. "It is a heroine-oriented film. Jaya Prada is not only producing the Bhojpuri film but also playing the lead role in the film which also stars Manoj Tiwari."He, however, said the film's name had not been finalised yet. The unit of the film, directed by Mahesh Manjerekar, had come down to Patna to can Lalu's two-minute scene with actors Johnny Lever and Mausumi Makhija. A scene of a lathi-wielding Lalu, however, could not save the film from bombing at the box office.Besides, he had also shot for two regional films, Mahua and Gudri ke Lal. These movies also failed to make any impact at the box office. Lalu, who has been a popular personality among tinsel town celebrities over the years, was not available for comments.
