Emraan Hashmi's film with international filmmaker Danis Tanovic (Best Foreign Language film Oscar winner for No Man's Land in 2002), which is currently under production in Patiala, is having to take an unexpected break. Balaji Motion Pictures decided to call Emraan to Mumbai to complete some last-minute patch work for the forthcoming 'Ek Thi Daayan', produced by Vishal Bhardwaj and Ekta Kapoor.
As 'Ek Thi Daayan' is set for an 18 April release, producer Guneet Monga and director Danis Tanovic understood the urgency for Emraan to be in Mumbai, and adjusted their schedule. Revealed a source, "Danis understands how the film business works and though he isn't entirely pleased about the break, he agreed to let go of Emraan to complete the patch work for 'Ek Thi Daayan'."
Danis' producer Guneet Monga confirmed: "It's (film industry) one big family for us. We are only happy to be able to do what's needed for Emraan and the team of ETD and Balaji." Directed by debutant Kannan Iyer, 'Ek Thi Daayan' also stars Konkona Sen Sharma, Huma Qureshi and Kalki Koechlin.
