Sonam Kapoor Says: I don't like mixing with co-stars: Having seen her colleagues beaten to death (figuratively) because of their alleged link-ups to their co-stars, Sonam Kapoor has decided not to get into any romantic rendezvous with her co-stars. The actress, who made her debut in the film industry three years ago, has her own lists of “dos’ and don’ts” in the industry, and this, she says, tops the list. The reason, says Sonam, is simple: She doesn’t like mixing her professional and personal life.
“These are the people with whom I am working today, and would be working with tomorrow as well. It is best to avoid any kind of link-ups with them. If something goes wrong, it might all turn out into a messy situation,” she says.
“I prefer keeping a distance when it comes to my co-actors,” says Sonam, adding, “I have my own friends but I have known them much before I started acting. With them, I don’t have to worry much, as I am not required to mix my personal and professional lives.”
So far Sonam has worked mostly with actors Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan (both of them married), and the only bachelors in her list have been Ranbir Kapoor and Abhay Deol. While Shahid Kapoor, with whom she just finished shooting for the film Mausam, has been involved with his own on-off relationship with Priyanka Chopra, Imran Khan was already engaged when Sonam started shooting with him.
Although Sonam confesses to be close as a friend with Imran, she denies having developed any such relationship with Shahid. “With Shahid, I have enjoyed a good professional relationship but that’s all about it. There is a long way to go to be very close friends with him,” says Sonam.
