It's been a giant leap for Ishaqzaade actor Arjun Kapoor from being an assistant director to a full-fledged actor. Incidentally Arjun, who stars opposite Priyanka Chopra in his upcoming film Ali Abbas Zafar's Gunday, used to address the actress as Priyanka madam in Salaam-e-Ishq, where he was director Nikhil Advani's Assistant Director.

A source said, "Priyanka was playing the lead in Salaam-e-Ishq. Arjun used to explain the scenes to Priyanka and used to call her madam. And now he is her co-star. Arjun can't believe he has been signed opposite her and has already started shooting for the film." Incidentally, the Chopra connection refuses to die down for Arjun as he made his big screen debut opposite Priyanka's cousin Parineeti Chopra. Says Arjun, "I guess it's destiny that the Chopra surname has been beautifully intertwined with me at such a nascent stage in my career. I hope it continues for years to come."
