The South star completes a decade in cinema and will be awarded for being one of the best achievers in the industry Trisha’s completion of a decade in films is being marked with an additional honour. The actress will receive the Women Achievers Award by JFW, the women’s magazine later today.
The awards function is to be held at the Sri Mutha Venkatasubba Rao auditorium in Chennai this evening. Trisha, who made her debut in Kollywood in 2002 in the Suriya starrer Mounam Pesiyadhe, rapidly rose on the popularity charts and established herself as one of the top actresses down South. Trisha is at present working with top stars Jiiva, Jayam Ravi and Vishal. The actress said that she’s elated about receiving the award and also the fact that she’s getting it in the midst of stalwarts from various fields.
Hansika Motwani is the other current female actor on the list of the winners. JFW is also honouring veteran actress Saroja Devi, dancer Alarmel Valli, scientist Dr Tessy Thomas and squash player Dipika Pallikal. According to JFW, these ladies have “stolen hearts, mesmerised minds, fired missiles and scored that coveted point. JFW is proud to honour the women who continue to weave stories of success and accomplishment.”
