David Dhawan's comic caper 'Chashme Baddoor' will mark the Bollywood debut of Taapsee Pannu - a sikh girl who has been acting in South films. David Dhawan refers to her, rather literally, as the Sikhni from South. Dhawan first used the moniker when Rishi Kapoor was getting ready for his shot in Goa for his first sequence. Taapsee was really excited to meet Rishi and went to the sets just for that! David introduced her to Bollywood veteran as the leading lady of his film, a Sikhni from South!

Meet Bollywood Debutante Taapsee Pannu - The Sikhni from South!

Rishi Kapoor looked a little puzzled and asked Taapsee why such an unusual name? It didn't sound like a sikh name."My aunt kept it!!!" explained Taapsee. The name stuck. Everyone on the sets started calling her 'Sikhni from South.' "David Uncle and Rishi Uncle are both Punjabis and maybe that's why he introduced me like this, but now it's a habit for him!!" Taapsee explains.

Adding, "Whoever he meets he will always introduce me like this only. " Directed by David Dhawan & Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Chashme Baddoor stars Ali Zafar, Siddharth, Divyendu Sharma and Southern siren Taapsee who is all set to make her Bollywood debut this year. The film bows in theaters on April 5.
