Abhay Deol launches school awareness programme for women and children

Abhay Deol has said schools and colleges should play a role in creating awareness about the protection of women and children in relation to sexual abuse. The 36-year-old was speaking at the launch of the Mission-Naari Sammaan campaign at Clara's College and Children Welfare Centre High School. "I am really glad to be the part of this programme, which gives us a feeling to be sensitive towards society and its vulnerable section [women and children]," Deol told.

"I personally feel that every school and college should come up with such programs that are devised with a goal to increase the sensitivity towards the protection of women and child from sexual abuse and spreading awareness for the same," he added. The program has been launched with the aim of elevating the status of women and children in society. The Chakravyuh star recently said that children should be encouraged to watch less TV. Deol will next be seen with Saif Ali Khan in what has been billed as Bollywood's first ever zombie comedy Rock the Shaadi.
