Vivek Oberoi has played Bhai in numerous films like COMPANY , SHOOTOUT AT LOKHANDWALA , etc. However, his upcoming film JAYANTABHAI, where he is once again set to play a bhai, is quite special. Reason? Well, it has the shades of Aamir Khan of RANGEELA. Not many know but Vivek was a crazy fan of Aamir's film RANGEELA and his colourful tapori character 'Munna'. He, in fact, watched the film countless times.''When I was in school I saw RANGEELA many times. I was crazy about that film. I loved Aamir Khan's character 'Munna' in RANGEELA.
So it kind of has shades of that but at the end of the day he is a bhai. Aamir Khan's character was more a tapori, a ticket-blacker, whereas my character is a proper bhai. He is a professional. He's got his own jargon and lingo and his own way of looking things in life,'' says Vivek. So ask Vivek if he got his nuances right by taking inspiration from Aamir's 'Rangeela' character and he says, ''I was influenced by Aamir's character for sure but I didn't copy it. I didn't pick it up and do it in similar manner. For me it was like taking COMPANY, SAATHIYA and putting it together to make Jayantabhai. RANGEELA was a very larger than life kind of story, whereas Jayantabhai is honest & simple real love story.''
