South import Kajal Aggarwal, who featured in the Ajay Devgan starrer Singham, is a Mumbai girl. She has made her mark in Tamil and Telegu films, and many feel that she belongs to the South. But Kajal is a Punjabi kudi, who lives in south Mumbai. Kajal has studied at St Anne's School at Colaba and at KC and Jai Hindi College in Mumbai. Her co-star in Special Chabbis Akshay Kumar would often speak to her in Punjabi while shooting. A source said, "As both Akshay and Kajal are Punjabi, the two would converse in their language between shots. The Khiladi however teased her for her anglicized Punjabi accent.
Akshay would often break into Punjabi and wait for her to say something. When he found her pronunciations odd, he would poke fun at her. The two would then share a good laugh as Kajal would try and say the word in the correct manner." The source added, "They also bonded over shared interests which included their love for Punjabi food. During a wedding bhangra song picturisation in the movie, the two had great fun, as and Kajal brushed up her Punjabi with the Khiladi." Apparently, the actress felt that since she does not often speak in Punjabi, her pronunciations were never correct. But after working with Akshay Kumar she managed to improve it.
