Comedy is becoming a popular genre across Bollywood films and TV shows, but actor Chunky Pandey rues the fact that there are no major awards in the country which honor comedians and comic movies. The actor is known for his comic characters in movies like "Aankhein", "Apna Sapna Money Money", "De Dana Dan", "Housefull", "Housefull 2" and "Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum"."I have not got any big award till now. But I think I have got audience's reward, so that is important. I hope I get some big award, like the National award.
But there is no category for comedy there," the 50-year-old said here in an interview. "We make people laugh, we are like doctors and we should get awards," added Chunky. The Filmfare awards used to honour the best performance in a comic role, but the category was discontinued post-2007. In "Aankhein", Chunky had shared screen space with another of Bollywood's comic greats, Govinda. Talking about the latter, Chunky said: "Govinda is not there with me now, but Govinda overshadows anyone who works with him. But I was saved (in 'Aankhein'), otherwise he did not leave anybody."
