Bollywood actor Bobby Deol who started his film career with the ‘Gupt: The Hidden Truth’ is celebrating his 46th birthday today. Deol, whose original name is Vijay Singh Deol, hails from a family of stars and was born in the Punjabi Jat family to actor Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur, News Track India reported. His older brother is another Bollywood mega-star, Sunny Deol. Deol began his career as a child artiste in the movie Dharam Veer (1977), playing a young Dharmendra.

He made his on-screen debut in the romantic film Barsaat (1995), produced by his father Dharmendra and co-starring Twinkle Khanna. For his role in this film, he was awarded Best Debut as Discovery of the Year at the Filmfare Awards, however, he could not come to the function since he was hospitalized at the time. Deol, did a series of films later in which he had his signature look with his long hairlocks but got real recognition through his 2002 film ‘Humraaz’. The ‘Badal’ star, who is also a sports lover, has recently joined the ‘Mumbai Heroes Cricket’ team owned by actor Sohail Khan.
