Monojoy Mukherjee, the son of (late) Joy Mukherjee, recently chanced upon an old bill from Film Centre, which in turn led to him discovering his illustrious father's unreleased film titled Love In Bombay. Even though the film was ready in 1971, it somehow couldn't see the light of the day. Besides Joy, the film also stars Waheeda Rehman in a modern day avatar, Rehman as the villain, Kishore Kumar and Ashok Kumar in prominent roles. Talking about Joy's role, his actor's wife said that he plays a Crocodile Dundee kind of character in the film!
Another USP of this film happens to be a chartbuster song 'Maaza Naav Ganpat Rao', which has been sung and enacted by the (late) Kishore Kumar and composed by Shankar-Jaikishen. Talking about the film's restoration, Monojoy said that they have gone for 2K restoration in high definition corrected each frame over six months, working 10 hours a day. He added that he has worked on the sound for three months. He, along with his brother Sujoy, sister Simran and mother are now confident enough to unveil the film under their father's banner. Buzz is that the film may be released on February 24, which also coincides with Joy's birthday.
