Kamal Haasan's magnum opus Vishwaroop has been facing a tad bit of trouble lately. From losing its distributor to even cancelling the DTH premiere of the film the makers have been hit hard and how. However, though it was finally decided to release the film in theaters normally we hear that yet again the film has run into trouble. This time various Muslim organizations have demanded a ban on the screening of Haasan's Vishwaroop, saying "it will affect social harmony".
It is learnt that M H Jawahirullah, MLA and President, Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam, said representatives of various Muslim organizations met the City Police Commissioner S. George today demanding that the screening of the movie be banned. In fact the organizations believe that the screening of the movie will affect social harmony in the state, and plan to meet the Home Secretary, besides moving the Censor Board to object to the screening of the film. Earlier the Muslim organizations had demanded that the film be screened to them prior to its release, expressing concern over the depiction of the community in the movie. Haasan had then organized a special screening of the movie following their demand.
