Neil Nitin Mukesh was born on January 15, 1982, to well-known singer Nitin Mukesh. He was named after the famous astronaut Neil Armstrong, by veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar. Neil set his foot into Bollywood when he was merely six years old, as a child artist in Vijay (1988).

His debut as a hero was in Johnny Gaddar that released in 2007. Post that, Neil earned critical acclaim in movies like New York (2009), Jail (2009), Lafangey Parindey (2010) and 7 Khoon Maaf (2011). But the Mukesh prodigy remained away from the limelight for a brief period post 7 Khoon Maaf. His only movie to release in 2012 was Players, which didn’t do much good to his career.
