To promote their upcoming movie, the cast of director Remo D’Souza’s ABCD — Any Body Can Dance will perform to a devotional number from the film amidst a crowd of crores at the Maha Kumbh Mela. The actors will dance to the track Deva at the festival that will take place on the banks of the river Ganges in Allahabad. “UTV (producers) and I are going to launch the song at the Maha Kumbh. Deva is a devotional track and I’m glad we are getting a chance to dance to it at this auspicious occasion and place,” says Remo. The Maha Kumbh Mela, which is held every 12 years, will reportedly be visited by crores of devotees this time. As a result, the makers are having a tough time planning the logistics of the promotional event.
Even though the details of when the performance will be staged are yet to be finalised, the director and the film’s cast are expected to depart for Allahabad by the end of this month. Produced by UTV Spotboy, ABCD is being touted as India’s first dance 3D film. It stars south star Prabhudheva, choreographer Ganesh Acharya and actor Kay Kay Menon in the main roles. Apart from a few contestants from the dance reality show Dance India Dance (Salman Yusuff Khan, Dharmesh Yelande, Raju Katuwal and Noorin Sha), the film also features Lauren Gottlieb of So You Think You Can Dance fame. The film is set to release on February 8.
