With a tinge of fun, frolic and Bollywood on the ramp, designer Rohit Bal brought the curtains down on the second edition of Delhi Couture Week true to his trademark style. Actor Arjun Rampal sauntered down the jasmine flower filled ramp in a black suit with 'Showstopper' written on his shirt. Titled 'Shanti', the collection was all about peace and joy, but the designer roped in the fun element breaking into an impromptu jig and showering flowers on the audience. “Fashion should be fun. As long as you add the fun element in it you will be creative. Rohit came to me with the shirt written 'Showstopper' on it and asked me to wear it with my black shades,” said Rampal. But the actor dropped the shades while walking on the ramp. “The idea of wearing the shade was to look serious. But in the process of looking serious my shades fell on the ramp,” he added. Rampal, who started his career with modelling in Delhi, said it has always been wonderful walking for Bal. “Rohit is the one who discovered me in a nightclub, gave me a great platform to start off and gave me lot of confidence. He has taught me a lot about fashion and I can never say no to him,” he said.
Bal's collection showed his signature flower motifs in different patterns. The colour palette included white, golden, black, blue and purple and the collection has heavily embroidered gowns, jackets, overcoats and lehengas. Bal's collection also included men's wear mostly comprising shewanis and overcoats.
