Sridevi has said that English Vinglish changed the lives of many women. The 49-year-old actress made her comeback with the film, which portrays the obstacles experienced by a non-English speaking woman in the US who decides to learn the language.Speaking to IANS, she said: "A lot of people, and especially ladies, approach me. Wherever I go, people even tell me I have changed their lives."

 

The actress explained that the film also had a positive impact on children. "A lot of kids, Jhanvi's (Sridevi's daughter) friends said sorry to their parents after watching the film, for being mean to them," she said.Sridevi was recently voted the most admired actress in Bollywood. It was also reported that the film had inspired young Dalit girls to learn English.
