The Ajay Devgn-Shah Rukh Khan YRF fight is history now. The new tussle is between Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn. Sources tell us that both the Bollywood biggies are vying for the Hindi remake rights of Venkatesh's upcoming film Shadow.

Apparently the B-Town biggies are impressed with the slick trailers and the stylised and fiery avatar of Venkatesh and are interested in reprising the swashbuckling role.It was initially Salman Khan who was interested in Shadow and had discussed it with his friend Venkatesh when the two had met at Ram Charan's marriage party.

Later, the superstar's brother-in law Atul Agnihotri had the script read to him by director Meher Ramesh and the former had resolved to remake it “in principle“. It was, in fact, Ramesh who had convinced Venkatesh to go in for a complete makeover for the larger-than life character which slips into varied avatars to eliminate his rivals.

Sources say that Ajay Devgn too summoned Ramesh for a detailed discussion about the film. “After the success of ‘Son of Sardaar’, even Ajay believes that star studded Telugu films are a safe bet. He came to know about Shadow and invited Meher Ramesh for a discussion.

He liked the concept of varied avatars and felt that it would be tailor-made for him,” adds the source in the production house. Although Ramesh admits that he has met Devgn, he is not willing to divulge anything more. “It’s true that I met him. But I narrated a different story line,” he says.
