The composer bagged the top honours at the 55th Asia Pacific Film Festival. Any appreciation for one’s work in the form of awards is always welcome for people in B-town. And it becomes all the more special when it is timely, and comes from prestigious quarters.
Anurag Basu’s Barfi! is one such film which is already in the running for Oscars. And now, the film’s music director Pritam, who has made more news for the sources he gets ‘inspired’ from rather than his music, has won the Best Music Director award at the 55th Asia Pacific Film Festival held in Macau. And apparently, Pritam was the only nominee from India.
Another B-town denizen Wasiq Khan bagged the award for the Best Production Designer for his work on Anurag Kashyap’s gangster epic Gangs Of Wasseypur. And with the Ra.One director Anubhav Sinha sitting on board as a jury member, we can definitely say that Bollywood is going places when it comes to the film festival circuit!
