Dabangg girl Sonakshi Sinha turned showstopper for designer duo Shantanu-Nikhil at the ongoing Delhi Couture Week. Sonakshi looked pretty in a white structured dress with silver embroidered overcoat. Poonam and Shatrughan Sinha were present to support their daughter. Jas Arora and sitar players Amaan and Poonam and Shatrughan Sinha were present to support their daughter. Jas Arora and sitar players Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash were also spotted in the front row. Sonakshi on collection “They are my favourite designers and I have been wearing their clothes. Whole setting and atmosphere was so good. White is one of my favourite colours. My dress is a beautiful mix of western and Indian. My father liked the dress so much that he has asked me to not return it. I’m very happy that my parents came to support me today.”

Shantanu-Nikhil on ‘Perfume’ collection “The collection defines the new fragrance of change in life for a modern bride and I guess Sonakshi is the perfect choice to depict the modern women. What Sonakshi is wearing is her style. She’s a very feminine person. We have given her a very structured and flowing garment,” said Nikhil.

“We have been doing drapes for many seasons now. We wanted to bring lace and drapes to couture. There’s lot of structure and fluidity. We have used a lot of French lace. Textures are done with brocades, satins and silks. We have compiled Indian style with contemporary silhouettes. Indian bride is looking for a new shape and we hope we are able to give a new silhouette that she can enjoy on her wedding functions. We are looking at cocktails as couture,” told Shantanu.

Runway report Fusion of traditional and contemporary, the collection featured elaborate drapes and silhouettes. Gowns and lehengas had hues and tones of yellows, oranges, blues and mauves. Neutral shades like black, white, brown and nude were also used. Hair was tied neatly in a back bun. No make-up except for dark brown lipstick was used. Models exchanged glances while walking on the ramp, giving inferior looks to each other. Garments were so heavy that it was difficult to walk for the models. Sonakshi Sinha was certainly the highlight of the show.
