Preeti Desai act in 'Shor in the city' with her co-star Abhay Deol: Former Miss Great Britain and fiancé of Bollywood actor Abhay Deol, Preeti Desai is gearing up for her debut film “Shor in the city”. Buzz is in the air that it is superstar Shah Rukh Khan and not Abhay Deol who has lured Preeti into films. In the film she has been cast opposite Hollywood star Sendhil Ramamuthry.

Preeti was recently spotted at the renowned Fashion show Lakme Fashion Week where the newbie’s friend revealed an interesting fact of what made Preeti come to India and make an entry in Bollywood. Preeti’s friend revealed that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan suggested Preeti to try her hands into acting and be a part of Bollywood.

Shah Rukh who knows a family friend of the debutant actress, and through whom he actually met her, requested him to tell Preeti to come down to India and try her hands in films by giving a shot thereby recommending her to join yesteryear actor Anupam Kher’s acting classes.

As a result “Shor in the City” happens. The film stars Tusshar Kapoor, Alok Chaturvedi, Sudhir Chowdhary, Pitabash Tripathy, Sendhil Ramamurthy Preeti Desai, Nikhil Dwivedi, Radhika Apte and Girish Oak. “Shor in the City” is slated to hit theatres on 28th April, 2011.
