In the recent years, Bollywood movies, which did not have a good market in Tamil Nadu, has started doing good business. Especially in Chennai, Hindi movies have started attracting people. It was all started with Shahrukh Khan's Ra One in 2011. In the present year, Ek Tha Tiger, English Vinglish and Jab Tak Hai Jaan have managed to keep the the cash register ringing. Now, Aamir Khan's new release Talaash has also got a good start at Chennai Box Office.
According to traders, Aamir Khan's Talaash was released in 14 screens in Chennai on November 30. The film has collected Rs 42 lakhs (gross) in the first three days and has netted Rs 35 lakhs. It is said to be a good collection for a Hindi film in Chennai. The occupancy for the film was better than average and on Saturday, the film received a good occupancy in multiplexes. However, in the Chennai Box Office, the Aamir Khan starrer film is in second place after Vijay's Thuppakki, which is still going strong at the Domestic Box Office.
Seenu Ramasamy's Neerparavai, Ang Lee's Hollywood film Life of Pi and last week release Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom are in the third, fourth and fifth position at Chennai Box Office. However, Talaash starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee in leads, has done wonderful business at the domestic Box Office. The psychological thriller has raked in Rs 47.1 crores nett at the desi collection centres in the first weekend.
