‘Rockstar’ Ranbir Kapoor will soon be seen playing with four leading ladies of Bollywood. This will be Anurag Basu’s ambitious project, showcasing the life and times of the legendary singer-actor Kishore Kumar. The film, produced by UTV Motion Pictures, will go on the floors by 2013-end or in 2014. Tentatively titled Kishore, it is currently in its scripting stage.

Anurag wants the movie as close to reality as possible. Hence, Ranbir will be paired with four heroines, a first for the actor. If the film is made about the singer’s entire life, then there will be four stories as Kishore Kumar had four wives. It’s these factors that are taking up a lot of time. The director can’t afford to miss out on any of these details.

Historically, Kishore Kumar married Bengali singer Ruma Ghosh and had his first child, Amit Kumar with her. However, the couple divorced after eight years (1950-1958). Then, he fell in love with Madhubala while he was still married to Ruma.

After his divorce, he married the actor and the wedding lasted till Madhubala’s death. After staying single for several years, Kumar found solace in actor Yogeeta Bali. However, the marriage didn’t last and they got a divorce within two years. After three marriages (with two failures), Kumar finally found love with actor Leena Chandavarkar. They remained married till his death and have a son, Sumit Kumar.
