Tabu is someone who has always managed to woo the audiences and critics equally. The actress, who recently raked in compliments for her performance in Ang Lee’s highly acclaimed flick Life of Pi, is out to surprise her viewers again.
From what we hear, Tabu is gearing up to launch herself as a singer. Buzz is that she gave her voice samples to Indian music maestro A.R. Rahman in Los Angeles a few months ago. If all goes well for the actress, she will be the second leading lady in Bollywood (after Priyanka Chopra) to take to singing professionally.
“There is no limit to Tabu’s talent. People want to see more of her but Tabu is very selective about her work and will commit to a project only when she wants to. The best part about her is that she doesn’t work under any kind of pressure which is why she is able to deliver so effortlessly on screen. If she wants to make a foray in the field of singing, I am sure she has done her homework,” says a close associate of the actress.
Besides, Tabu has always been an ardent admirer of Rahman’s music. He has composed for her films in the past and when she decided to take the plunge into the musical arena, Rahman’s was the first name she thought of. We can’t wait to see how this one turns out.
