The Jab Tak Hai Jaan actor received Morocco’s royal award at the 12th Marrakech International Film Festival. Amitabh Bachchan was also honoured at the fest with the Tribute to Hindi Cinema award. Actor Shahrukh Khan was conferred Morocco’s prestigious Medal of Honour at the ongoing Marrakech International Film Festival.
The festival paid a tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema and Bollywood stars, including Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Sridevi, Anurag Kashyap, Arjun Rampal, Malaika Arora Khan and Shahrukh were among those present.
As the President of the Indian delegation at the event, Bachchan was also honoured by French actor Catherine Deneuve with the Tribute to Hindi Cinema award. Italian hottie Monica Bellucci was also one of the invitees at the event and was spotted chatting with Shahrukh.
Prince Moulay Rachid hosted a royal dinner for the guests where he presented Shahrukh with the Medal of Honour of Morocco. SRK said on his social networking site, “Thanx everyone for the wishes from Morocco. His Highness the King and the Prince were so gracious with their hospitality and the function.”
He also tweeted a picture with the medal, saying, “Thanks for the honour and happiness. All the best for the rest of the festival.” Bachchan is also a recipient of the Medal of Honour of Morocco, given to him by King Mohammed upon his earlier visit to the festival.
