When a leading daily asked Shahid Kapoor about his relationship with Kareena Kapoor, Shahid said that he believes in commitment and he thinks that if a person is not ready to commit he should not have a relationship. Shahid Kapoor further added, "As for what went wrong between me and Kareena, I don't want to comment on it. Everything happens for a reason; I am in a happy space and wish her all the best."

When asked about his relationship with Priyanka Chopra, Shahid said that ever since his break up with Kareena he never spoke about his relationship status.
