Karan Johar spoke recently about the script written by his father a long time ago that he now wants to work on. Now he’s planning on the cast, and we have news that he’ll be casting Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. Karan stated that he was too attached to the script and since the time his father, Yash Johar passed away, he has been in two-minds over making it into a film.

Now, we think, if Karan is so close to a script, ideally we expect close friend SRK to take on the lead, especially because it’s a period-romance drama. Doesn’t he trust the romance-specialist, or is it the fact that Shah Rukh looks too old as compared to Ranbir?

Whatever may be the case, Karan hasn’t spoke about any projects with SRK in a while. There’s a second lead in the film too, and sources say Saif Ali Khan is playing the part. And then we also saw Karan cosying up and having a chat with Salman Khan on the sets of Dabangg 2. Why the sudden interest in the other Khans, when your very own, so called ‘close friend’, Shah Rukh Khan is at hand? Only time will tell.
