Bollywood bombshell Neha Dhupia says her relationships; upbringing and doing item numbers have all boosted her career. Born in Kerala, Dhupia admits her South Indian connection is amazing. She was raised in Hyderabad, city of Nawabs. Then she won the coveted Miss India contest. And the kind of love that this city showered on her then, can never be forgotten.
Dhupia did bold films like ‘Julie’ and ‘Sheesha’ before moving to character acts in ‘Delhii Heights’, ‘Mithya’, ‘Phas Gaye Re Obama’. Now, she feels the script is important. She feels Indian cinema is going through a great phase with some out-of-the-box ideas. Her latest ‘Rush’ failed at the box office because of timing.
She confirms that she will be doing an item number in ‘Dil Ne Dil Ko Pukara’ as such acts provide a career boost. She has been offered an item number in Tigmanshu Dhulia's ‘Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 2’. She is currently working on a film directed by Rensil D'Silva and produced by Karan Johar, opposite Emraan Hashmi, in a lead role. Dhupia just finished shooting for her first Punjabi film ‘Rangeeley’ with Jimmy Shergill. She is looking forward to doing a comedy in January 2013.
