Ajay Devgn to celebrate SOS success but Shah Rukh won't make a public display. Salman Khan threw 'Ek Tha Tiger' success party; Aamir Khan celebrated 'Delhi Belly' success at a posh Mumbai hotel; Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Prabhu Deva had a success party of 'Rowdy Rathore'.
But that's not what Shah Rukh Khan will do! Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan wants to do things differently than his colleagues in the industry. The actor will host no such success bash for his 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'.
In a recent interview to Hindustan Times SRK said, "Maybe I’ll call the actors; Adi (producer Aditya Chopra) and others home one day. The film stems from a slightly sad place, so we’ll simply hug each other for having made a good film. We won’t have a public party, which is a fad".
Aha! So Shah Rukh does not want to do what other stars do or what rival Ajay Devgn plans to do. Ajay Devgn has every reason to be happy despite a strong competition from Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'. Ajay and Sonakshi starrer 'Son Of Sardaar' has been successful at the Box-Office.
And it is reported that to celebrate the movie's success, Ajay wants to throw a party. Insiders say that Ajay Devgn is very happy with the fact that 'Son Of Sardaar' has done a good business irrespective of the number of screens allotted to it. This is the first time Ajay's film has collected a good amount so soon. Not only this, SOS is Ajay Devgn's biggest overseas opening so far.
Exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi told a leading daily, "SOS has a large mass appeal, and therefore, it has had an edge in the B and C centers (non-metro cities) from day one. The single screen occupancy (footfalls per screen) of SOS is also better than JTHJ after the weekend."
Well, this gives Ajay all reasons to celebrate! Going by that logic, 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan', which continues to mint money should have a bigger celebration. The romantic saga has earned Rs 101.26 crore at the domestic box office in 11 days since its release.
Yash Chopra's last directorial venture featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, released on 2,500 screens on November 13 giving much grief to Ajay Devgn with very limited screen occupancy.
But why is Shah Rukh Khan grumpy about public party, "which is a fad"? Is he trying to take a dig at Ajay or is he waiting 'JTHJ' to cross Rs 200 cr mark to topple arch rival Salman Khan's movie 'Ek Tha Tiger' which grossed Rs 199.3 cr in India?
And if SRK is mourning legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra's demise what was the grand premiere all about? 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' is supposed to be celebration of the filmmaker's life and work. Whatever may be the reason we would like Shah Rukh to have little fun in life. Moreover we should all spread happiness and not gloom.
