Anil Kapoor’s plans of remaking the 1980 blockbuster Khoobsurat have finally taken some shape. Daughter Sonam has been finalised as the lead and Shashanka Ghosh roped in as director. The news is that not just Sonam Kapoor but sister Rhea Kapoor will also be a part of the Khoobsurat remake. She will be donning the producer’s hat. This is not exactly the Kapoor trio’s first film together.

Anil Kapoor and his feisty daughters have churned out Aisha together, which unfortunately failed to work wonders at the box office. However the Kapoors aren’t really deterred by their past failure. Anil has been keen and sure about casting Sonam right since the germ of the remake took root in his mind.

We wonder what made him see Sonam as the right chick for stepping into Rekha’s shoes. Maybe Ms Kapoor’s outspoken nature and her strong personality made daddy Anil think that there couldn’t be a better heroine than his own li’l bundle of joy to play the lead character.

It’s the season of remakes and the Kapoors are cashing in big time on this trend. And although the shoot of Khoobsurat will only start once Sonam wraps up Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Raanjhnaa, we wait to see what kinda look the stylish fashionista will opt for in the film. Will she follow Rekha’s plait style or will she give her own wacky and stylish twist to it…we wait and watch!
