Taking a cue from friend and now business associate Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor too seems to have decided to uphold fresh talent in her upcoming productions. Not only will the Balaji baroness provide a platform to new filmmakers, but also to young actors.

Mirror has learnt that Kapoor, who had given a break to several fresh faces in the past in Love Sex Dhokha, Ragini MMS and Shor In The City will now launch newcomer Siddharth Gupta as the male lead in the Bejoy Nambiar co-production to be directed by award winning ad-film maker Aman Sachdeva. The film titled Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi, will have Simran Kaur, former Miss India who made her silver screen debut last year in Jo Hum Chahein, cast opposite the newcomer.

A source close to the production told Mirror,“Ekta is planning a22 February 2013 release for it. It is a quirky comedy.” When contacted, Tanuj Garg, CEO, Balaji Motion Pictures confirmed the news and said, “We are delighted to partner a creative talent like Bejoy Nambiar on a film that we believe is clearly among the most hilarious and entertaining scripts we’ve read.”

Excited about his new project, Bejoy said, “The director held a long audition process over several months. We were very clear that we wanted a fresh face. Lots of youngsters were auditioned and I went to Ekta with the tapes. It took us around five odd months to finally lock Siddharth for the role. He is young and has the vulnerability. Deciding on the female lead took us some time. Simran joined the cast much later.”
