During the Bhopal shoot, Amitabh Bachchan made Prakash Jha and the cast and crew of Aarakshan dance to his tunes – quite literally. Prakash Jha's Aarakshan was shot in Bhopal for over two months where the entire unit had ended up bonding like family. So when the time came to wrap up the shoot, Amitabh Bachchan decided to give the rather hard working members of his new surrogate family a night to remember.
"We were expecting it to be just another wrap up party, with the usual latest numbers playing endlessly," reveals a member of the unit, "But Mr. Bachchan himself made sure that the party rocked."
It's a well known fact that Amitabh Bachchan is very tech-savvy and during the Aarakshan wrap-up party he took over the DJ console. "Mr. Bachchan was actually mixing up tracks up there on the console. Anytime he felt the tempo dip, he would mix it up with peppier beats and get the adrenaline pumping again. From Kabhie Kabhie to Kajrare , we danced the night away proving that Bachchan's songs will never go out of fashion", adds the unit-member.
Within minutes, DJ AB apparently had everybody, including the normally sober Prakash Jha, shaking a leg on the floor. "I never thought I'd see my daughter and her friends dance to Mere Aangne Mein – from Laawaris and Pag Ghungaroo Bandh from Namak Halal ," says Prakash Jha "We used to love these numbers but I didn't imagine these kids would also be requesting them again and again."
Amitabh himself has revealed that since it was the wedding season in Bhopal at the time, there were numerous occasions when he would be sitting in his room, listening to the 'barati' versions of Sharabi. He may be about to become a granddad but Amitabh Bachchan's fans are sure he'll still be rocking even when this generation.
