Aishwarya Rai Bachchan finally accepted the second highest civilian French honour at a renowned hotel in Mumbai. It turned out to be quite an eventful evening, courtesy Beti B who started crying as Ash got busy with the investiture ceremony.
No sooner did Aishwarya climb the stage to be honoured with the award than Aaradhya got cranky. But Abhishek Bachchan, like a responsible father, left the ceremony hall for some time to calm her.
While addressing the gathering, Ash said, “I thank the French government for honoring me with this award. It’s truly overwhelming. I want to thank every professional who I have worked with who made it possible for me to have such a glorious career.”
The concerned mother also discussed the rationale behind keeping Aaradhya away from the shutterbugs. “We would love to share our personal moments with you, but we tend to take care of our babies. It gets overwhelming and uncomfortable for them in the presence of flash lights and cameras. That's why we get protective,” Ash exclaimed.
Amidst all this, Amitabh Bachchan, who was present at the occasion, looked somewhat miffed with the entire Aaradhya episode. Perhaps, he’d warned his daughter-in-law about it, which Ash mentioned in her speech. “I was warned about Aaradhya becoming cranky but nonetheless, it’s a memorable moment,” Ash concluded.
