It was an almost white reception for Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor in Delhi. According to sources present at the Dawat-e-Walima for Saifeena, the colour white was found in plenty at the venue. Our source says, "The entire decor of the event was in white.
So from the white mogra flowers to the chandeliers and candles, everything was bathed in white." As the newlyweds arrived sharp at 7.30 pm, the guests were greeted at the entrance with "farshi adaab" (welcome) by Saif's cousins.
As a live band performed along with a singing opera, family and friends poured in and the mood was one of high exaltation. A close friend of the Pataudi family also points out how the presence of Bollywood fraternity at the party was very limited.
The source adds, "Rishi, Neetu and Bebo's cousin Ranbir Kapoor skipped the event. The party however saw a lot of politicians rubbing shoulders with each other. Rahul Gandhi was at the do throughout the evening."
The menu too was elaborate at the party with nahaari, khada masala gosht, kebabs and desserts to tease the taste buds of the guests. A family member says, "There were more than 50 different dishes!"
Saif's sisters Soha and Saba were spotted wearing royal farshi ghararas that once belonged to their grand mother. Guests from Pakistan, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Bhopal were also a part of the ceremony.
