OMG, English Vinglish beat Aiyyaa, BR at Box Office

Old releases like OMG Oh My God and English Vinglish have continued to keep the bells ringing at the Box Office in India. They have landed in first and second spots respectively in the domestic collection chart beating the new releases like Aiyya, Bhoot Returns, Makkhi and three other films.

OMG Oh My God opened to a poor response, but the positive word of mouth has continued to keep it rock-steady at the Box Office. Unaffected by new releases, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal starrer has collected Rs 13 crores nett in the third week. With this, its three weeks' total collection has Rs 73 crores nett in the country. But it is expected to go down due to the release of Student of the Year.

Sridevi's comeback film English Vinglish, which had collected Rs 21 crores nett in the first week, continued its successful at the Box Office. It has landed in the second spot in the collection chart beating new releases. It has approximately Rs 11.4 crores nett to its two-week total Rs 32.4 crores nett.

But Aiyyaa, which is the much-hyped comeback film of Rani Mukherjee, has failed to reach the expectations of its producers. It was expected to break the first week record of English Vinglish, but it has just collected approximately Rs 6.25 crores nett at the domestic Box Office in the first week.

Much-talked about horror movie Bhoot Returns has fallen flat at the Box Office and it has entered the list of flop films of filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. The Manisha Koirala's comeback has only collected approximately Rs 4.75 crores nett at the desi collection centres in the first week.

SS Rajamouli's graphical wonder Eega had done wonders at the Tollywood Box Office. Its Hindi version Makkhi was expected to repeat the same magic in Bollywood collection centres. Despite terrific word of mouth, the movie has raked in approximately Rs 3.42 crores nett in the first week.
