Priyanka Chopra celebrated her 29th birthday yesterday. Though she admits her parents want to see her tie the knot, she insists, “My priorities don’t include walking down the aisle anytime soon. They know that I will take that step when I am ready.” Ask if she’s set a mental deadline to get hitched and she retorts, “I don’t really think you can assign a time frame to something as important as this. I believe in destiny and my knight in shining armour will appear when I’m ready for him.” Talking about the kind of man she would want to settle down with, she says, “I am attracted to a man’s intelligence and sense of humour. He also has to have a happy personality, be sincere, original and Back from Los Angeles, the actor celebrated her birthday with family and close friends and is slated to leave tomorrow on a month-long London schedule for Kunal Kohli’s film, tentatively titled Janam Janam Ka Saath Hai Humara Tumhara, in which she is paired with Shahid Kapoor.
She says, “I have been in transit for so long that it was a relief to be back home and with close ones for my birthday.” Earlier the actor was supposed to shoot for Anurag Basu’s Barfee in July but Shahid’s flick Mausam’s release has been delayed to September 16 and he couldn’t shoot in September for Kolhi’s film as per the earlier schedule. So Kohli called Basu and requested him to exchange Priyanka’s dates. Now, the schedule kicks off this week in London.
The actor has recently completed shooting for the Agneepath remake along with Hrithik Roshan and Don 2: The Chase Continues with Shah Rukh Khan. After she returns from London, her date-dairy is packed with Barfee and Krissh 2. She says, “There are so many other exciting things on the anvil that I am looking forward to.”
While birthdays force most people to make their to-do lists, Priyanka says, “I haven’t got a bucket list at this point. I’m just thankful for what I’ve been given so far. But maybe one day, when I’ve slowed down, I’ll take a breath and take stock of whether I need a bucket list.”
