According to the lead story of an entertainment glossy, Priyanka Chopra is running out of work and the chances of her working in big banner projects are quite bleak in the near future. The story says that Barfi! could be Priyanka’s last big banner movie for a long time to come because there has been no ‘big’ announcement from her side.
We think the main reason for this speculation is the fact that PeeCee has been focusing on her international music album which is set to release early next year. Now, does that mean that Piggy Chops is not a ‘go-getter’? Not really!
Remember Priyanka had sent feelers to Sanjay Leela Bhansali to star in his next biggie Ram Leela a month back? Though some industry experts thought it was a desperate effort, wethinks the actor at least tried her luck at getting hold of a challenging character. She’s known to hunt for challenging stuff, isn’t she?
Looks like all those stories about PeeCee being out of work can finally be put to rest. The actor has managed to hit back at her detractors by bagging a plum project helmed by Yash Raj Films. She has been signed to play the lead role opposite Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor in director Ali Abbas Zafar’s Gunday.
This is an addition to the two films that Priyanka has already given her nod to – Apoorva Lakhia’s Zanjeer alongside the South superstar Ram Charan Teja and Ekta Kapoor’s Milan Talkies. Now, aren’t these big projects, people?
But the interesting piece of info is that Katrina is not quite happy that Priyanka doing a Yash Raj movie after staying away from the production house for two years (remember, Pyaar Impossible?). Apparently, Kat expected good friend Ali Abbas to sign her, and was quite disappointed that he finally approached Piggy Chops.
Katrina has been a part of three of Yash Raj Films’ biggest productions this year – Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan, the Diwali release, Jab Tak Hai Jaan with Shahrukh Khan and the highly anticipated Dhoom:3 opposite Aamir Khan. So naturally, Kat was expecting this ambitious project to fall in her lap. Now, Ms Kaif, that’s getting greedy, isn’t it?
