Bollywood's buzzing with excitement as superstar Amitabh Bachchan's birthday, that marks his turning the big Seven-O, is just a few days away now. According to sources, frantic preparations are underway by the senior actor's family and close friends to ensure that it's nothing but the best for Big B.
Daughter-in-law actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has already returned with grand-daughter Aaradhya from Chicago. They had gone to meet Big B's son actor Abhishek Bachchan who was shooting there for Dhoom 3. Abhishek himself flew back the next day well in time for his Pa's birthday. Meanwhile, helping Jaya back home are the family's good friends designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, who are also said to be instrumental in planning the big bash.
The exact details of the lavish sit-down dinner however are a guarded secret as is the guest list, even though all of Bachchan's closest friends are expected to be in attendance for the evening. But it's not just a hushed affair for those not on the list, even the birthday man, Bachchan Sr himself, is supposedly unaware about all the plans for the day. In any case, he is not going to be a spoilsport and prefers to not talk about the celebrations.
"I think, there is going to be some celebration and the wife is responsible for that. I am not supposed to know about it, talk about it or even be aware of it, so I can't answer this question very adequately. But Jaya and the family want to do something for the 70th year.
Perhaps you will come to know about it soon..." says the legendary actor, when we ask him about his plans for the big day. And as part of these celebrations, Jaya has even commissioned about 70 leading artists from across the country to produce a series of paintings inspired by the actor.
These paintings will be exhibited at an art show and will also be documented in a coffee table book to mark the occasion. When we asked the mega-star about it, he shares, "I believe something like this is happening. But as I said I am not aware of what is being done."
